Longdistance Iceskating

The lake- and channelsystem of Bergslagskanal coverth a length of over 64 km from Filipstad in the north to Karlskoga in the south.
These waterways are in favourable weatherconditions an ideal longdistance - skating area.
Well swept and marked tracks.
Clean swept tracks are a presupposition for the possibility of longdistance- skating.
Various facts have an important influence on the surface of the ice. This facts are: thickness of the ice itself ,also snow , rain , temperature and changes of weather conditions in general.
Because market tracks are under daily observation , a high standart of safety precaution is provided.
Market tracks are shown by orange colour, unsuitable (out of bounds) areas are shown by black and yellow colours.
The use of any tracks are on your own risk !
Warning : look out for working vehicles !

Bergslagschannel – race / Jonny Nilsson Maraton 50 Km
At one Sunday in February (will be announced) the competition Bergslagskanalrännet, takes place. Start is in Lunedet and finish in Filipstad.
The former world- and olympiachampion Jonny Nilsson not only supports this event but takes competitive part as well.
Attention: Advance booking is compulsory!
